Curriculum Connections
- Flood disaster - how do people cope?
- Rivers - a fieldwork approach
- Weather patterns over Europe
This compilation explores and demonstrates the key physical processes affecting weather and climate. In order to explain the fundamental concepts covered, a combination of graphics, three-dimensional imagery and large scale models is used.
The consequences of floods are then explored through the floods of 1995 where the Low Countries were deluged with water, and floods threatened many major towns.
Finally, we explore whether human activity along the river Rhine aggravated the problem and look at attempts to minimise the hazards from flooding.
