Summary:
This is Geography is a major new course for Key Stage 3 Geography aiming to raise standards of teaching and learning through covering less content but doing more learning with it. It has been thoroughly revised to reflect the concept based approach of the revised National Curriculum.

It offers:

- an enquiry based approach
- a streamlined scheme of work
- worthwhile and significant tasks
- integrated ICT

This CD ROM provides e-learning activities to support and extend the use of Pupil Book 1 - including web-based searches, animations, video clips, pictures, whiteboard activities and much more


  • eLearning activities for the interactive whiteboard or networked computers to support the teaching of lower secondary Geography
  • Dynamic visuals (including photos, maps, diagrams and illustrations) for you to display, annotate and label, enlarge, reduce or crop or to import into your own presentations
  • Animated demonstrations of important geographical skills such as using grid references, drawing sketch maps or using a scale
  • Hyperlinks to web-based resources, and web-based investigations
  • Drag-and-drop activities and games to test or reinforce understanding
  • Video clips to introduce lessons or demonstrate geographical ideas
  • On screen writing frames or sorting frames to help pupils improve their understanding and share their ideas with others

About the Author(s):
John Widdowson was the author of the Earthworks series – which twice won the Geographical Association's Silver Award for educational resources and of the Geography Special Needs Support Material used in hundreds of schools all around the country to raise achievement among lower ability pupils. He is a curriculum development expert and currently a Geographical Association consultant on their curriculum making project and a contributor to the Geographical Association's Teaching Geography handbook.
