Collins Key Stage 3 History

Collins Key Stage 3 History is an accessible new series focused on ensuring that pupils all make clear, measurable progression at Key Stage 3. With highly engaging visual content and each unit broken down into a series of spreads, the course provides a clear path through the Key Concepts set by the 2008 Programme of Study.Each unit has a clear set of objectives that are covered in colourful spreads, as well as ‘Check Your Progress’ sections to allow teachers to monitor pupils’ development. • A clear focus on links to local history• Guidance on how one topic or period leads to another - giving pupils an understanding of chronology• Links with the present to engender understanding of how we got to where we are now.

The Teacher Resources offer lesson plans for each spread, and resource sheets provide in depth information on key topics where appropriate. Differentiation is clearly signposted in the lesson plans - with extensive guidance on engaging less able pupils as well as extension work for the gifted and talented.

The ICT component allows engaging images, as well as video and audio clips to be displayed from an interactive whiteboard. Powerpoint files and Word files with assessment ideas are also included.
